Watermain Various Locations/IEPA Permit

Mayor Kernc stated our IEPA permit for the School St. project must be resubmitted. Since we are resubmitting, we would like to submit for 2 other locations which were discussed by Village Engineer Mike Perry and Public Works Supervisor Jim Dunning. One is for watermain on IL Route 113 from Daly St. to McGinty St. to remove the 1 ½ inch copper line located under the road. The second one is on Will Road from Dave’s Auto Werks to south of Border St. which is a 1 ½ inch line that dead ends at 365 S. Will Road. Dunning received a quote from Wren Construction for the entire projects which estimated at $150,000.00. Kernc stated we would do only 1 location at a time and start with the smaller project. The village would purchase the materials and complete the restoration to reduce cost. Dunning is working on obtaining pricing for materials etc. Mayor Kernc stated she is hoping to complete the smaller of the two projects this year which would be the Will Road watermain. MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Kasher to Approve IEPA Watermain Permit for Will Road and IL Route 113 as discussed. All Ayes: Motion Carried.
