Illinois State Rep. Jackie Haas promoted her annual toy drive in a Dec. 7 Facebook post.
"There’s still time to donate toys to the Toys for Tots toy drive!" she said in the post. "Drop off donations of new unwrapped toys at my district office through this Friday."
Haas originally announced her toy drive on Nov. 15, marking the third year she has held such an event.
"Rep. Haas is encouraging residents throughout her 79th District to join her in this season of giving!" a release on her website said. "Community members are invited to drop off any new toys, which will be given to those in need this holiday season. Any new toys will be accepted."
The drive is not accepting used toys or stuffed animals.
“Toys for Tots is a tremendous organization that really does a fantastic job with spreading holiday cheer to those in need this time of year and I am proud to help play a small role in facilitating that joy,” Haas said in the release.
Haas' office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and a donation box has been set up there. Questions can be directed to her district office at 815-523-7779.
