Village of Minooka Planning & Zoning Commission met May 9.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Dan Friant at 6:00 PM
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Present: Chairman Dan Friant, Commissioners Mark Skwarczynski, Bob White, and Dan Wittenkeller
Absent: Commissioners DeDe Clennon and Bob Wilson
Also Present: Mayor Ric Offerman, Community Development Officer Jeff Lind, Village Attorney Mike Santschi, Village Engineer Sean Kelly, Deputy Clerk Jessica Harvey, and Casey McCollom
SWEARING IN OF NEW COMMISSIONER
The Village of Minooka was notified on Feb 28, 2023 that Bruce Miller would not continue at the end of his 5-year term. The Village Board appointed Casey McCollom to the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 2, 2023. Chairman Friant requested Deputy Clerk Harvey to administer his oath of office. The Commission welcomed Commissioner McCollom.
4. REVIEW OF PREVIOUS PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner White to approve the April 11, 2023 Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes as corrected.
Commissioner Wittenkeller seconds.
Ayes: Clennon, White, Wilson, Friant
Nays: None
Abstain: McCollom, Skwarczynski
Absent: None
Motion carried.
5. BRIEFING ON VILLAGE UPCOMING AGENDA ITEMS
Community Development Officer Lind stated there were none at this time but he thanks the Commission for their contributions.
6. OLD BUSINESS
None
7. NEW BUSINESS
A. Final Plat - Unified Holdings LLC (UZB Project) PIN 03-03-200-006
Commission discussed with legal and engineering that final plat was identical to preliminary plat. Engineering noted there were no significant items that needed to be addressed. Commission observed a minor typo on the plat to be corrected.
Based on the evidence presented and the reasons set forth in the Planning and Zoning Meeting, Commissioner White motioned to recommend to the Village Board the approval of the Unified Holdings Final Plat of Subdivision for PIN 03-03-200-006, pending Minooka spelling correction, legal, and final engineering review.
Commissioner Wittenkeller seconds.
Ayes: McCollom, Skwarczynski, White, Wittenkeller
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Absent: Clennon, Wilson
Motion carried.
8. AS APPROPRIATE
Chairman Friant inquired about getting a hard copy of the newest Comprehensive Plan from the Community Development Officer.
Commissioner White expressed with the Mayor, Commission, Staff, Engineering and Legal that he felt the private dog park was misrepresented to the Commission and further discussed his concerns for the lack of parking and the liability risks imposed with the work that had already begun. Mayor Offerman invited the members of the Commission to attend the Committee of the Whole public meetings to voice their concerns and share their thoughts directly with the Trustees.
There is an upcoming variance request for Poor Clares that will be presented to the Commission in the near future.
9. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received but Mayor Offerman did state the Planning and Zoning Commission does a very good job!
10. ADJOURNMENT
Motion was made by Commissioner Wittenkeller to adjourn the Planning and Zoning Commission. meeting.

Motion carried with all ayes. Meeting adjourned at 6:34 PM.
