Public Comment

Resident Christina Johnson was concerned about the motorized vehicles-dirt bikes etc. which minors are driving throughout the streets. She is concerned that an accident could occur. Mayor Kernc has zero tolerance of those who are not abiding by the law. She stated when Johnson sees this going on, contact Grundy County. Commissioner Warner stated the more information the sheriff’s department can obtain, the more likely they are to catch those offenders. If it happens at the same time of day, specific day(s), this will help to justify an increase in patrol also. If Johnson knows the offender, let the sheriff’s department know as well and if she gets pictures, that would be very helpful. Kernc added, the village is aware of these issues on the bike path also, and cameras will be installed to assist in obtaining offenders identification and prosecution.

New Business

Naked Sun Spa

Mayor Kernc welcomed Samantha Marshall, co-owner of Naked Sun Spa. Marshall is interested in expanding her business and would like to offer wine, beer etc. for patrons at her establishment. Marshall is working with a local businessperson to sell their mead/wine at her store. Kernc informed Marshall the liquor license categories/ordinance is being redone with expansion of businesses like Naked Sun Spa. Attorney John Gallo stated he does have to look over the paperwork which Village Clerk Lori Holmes has submitted. Marshall would like to know what the timeframe would be to complete this and Gallo responded he should have it within 30 days. The village will contact Marshall once all is completed.
