Robert H. "Bob" Coleman, 86, Fondly Remembered as Pillar of Morris Community

Morris, IL - Robert H. "Bob" Coleman, a beloved figure in the Morris community known for his service and dedication, peacefully passed away in his hometown on January 15, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on May 2, 1938, to Harold and Pauline Coleman, Bob's life was characterized by a commitment to his community and a deep love for his family.

After graduating from Morris High School in 1956, Bob married Barb Wiltermood. He pursued a varied career path that included owning and operating Century 21, serving in the Grundy County Sheriff's Department, and holding leadership roles in the Morris Fire Department for over five decades. Bob also served as Fire Marshal for the City of Morris and as Grundy County Deputy Coroner for 61 years. His dedication and leadership were further evidenced by his service in the US Army Reserve as a Staff Sergeant.

Bob's family was at the center of his life, and he is survived by his children Leslie Harvey, Robyn Coleman, and Robert Coleman, as well as grandchildren Kayla Harrington, Emily Estensen, and Taylor Coleman. His late wife Barb, parents Harold and Pauline Coleman, and twin sister Beth predeceased him. Bob's legacy of service and dedication will be carried on by those who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Bob will be held at the Morris Fire Department on January 19, 2025, with a celebration of his life scheduled for the following day, officiated by Pastor Steve Larson. Bob will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
