Mike's life was marked by his commitment to family and his success in the business world. After graduating from Tildan Tech in Chicago, he excelled in sales, eventually becoming a top salesman. In 1994, he founded Lindy-Gerties, a well-known establishment in Ottawa and Morris, creating a welcoming community for patrons.
In 1977, Mike married Pam Janssens, and their union brought joy and laughter until her passing in 2022. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Boecker, son Michael Voytek, and grandchildren Cody Larson and Amber Bormet. His great-grandchildren, Cassius and Atticus Bormet, symbolize his enduring legacy.
Mike is also survived by his sister Sherri Ucho and his nieces and nephews, who remember him fondly for his playful spirit and genuine interest in their lives.
Beyond his career and business ventures, Mike's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He cherished these moments of sharing stories, offering wisdom, and simply being together.
A memorial gathering will be arranged at a later date. Mike will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris. Cremation rites have been accorded.
