OSFM announces $4 million in grants for essential tools and equipment in Illinois

The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) has disclosed the recipients of the 2024 Small Equipment Grant Program. This initiative aims to assist fire departments, fire protection districts, and non-profit ambulance services across Illinois in acquiring crucial equipment necessary for their operations.

This year, OSFM received over 300 applications. A total of 178 fire departments, fire protection districts, and EMS providers were selected for grants of up to $26,000 each. More than $4 million in funding has been allocated throughout the state.

Among the grant recipients in the 38th District are the Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Ottawa Fire Department, Oswego Fire Protection District, and Sheridan Community Fire Protection District.
