MAZON-VERONA-KINSMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT 2C: December Parents' Club Meeting Highlights

Mazon-Verona-Kinsman Elementary School District 2C issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.

▪Call to order

▪In attendance:Amanda Cronkrite, Michelle Weber, Jessica Arnstrom, Crystal Aukland,Tony DiNello,

▪Secretary Report. Crystal distributed minutes for November.

▪Treasurer’s Report:Jessica distributed.

Upcoming Items

▪Chilis Dine to Donate:Check should arrive after Christmas!

▪Christmas Program Auction Ideas:Bob will be running the auction for both nights. We have a $40 gift certificate from EJ Karz and a mini sled to gift him. Teaser pictures will be taken and posted the day of the auction.

▪Staff Favorites: A form was made in Google Drive to create a “My Favorite Things” questionnaire to be sent out to the staff. This needs to be finished.

▪Open Play Dodgeball:January 12, 2019 in the Middle School Gym. It will be from 9-11 am. There will be a $2 entry and parents are required to stay with their student. It will be for K-8th grade and will have K-2, 3-5, 6-8th grades grouped together. Each level will run for 3-5 minutes each.

▪Christmas Parties: December 20 @ 2:15.

▪Second Quarter Awards:January 17, 2019 @ 2:30 pm.

▪Responsibility Party: January 18, 2019 @ 2:45 pm. (Need 2 Rootbeer, 2 orange and 2 ice cream)

▪Pickleball Tournament: April 13, 2019 9 am start registration, Ball drop @ 9:30. MVK middle school gym, Possibility of having Student Council concession stand open during Tournament. Waiting to hear back from Nancy.

▪Spirit Wear:Crystal Aukland Committee Head. We are no longer doing spirit wear campaigns. Orders will go directly to Barb.

▪Budget:December Monthly Sheet was distributed.

▪MVK Beer and Wine to Raise a Dime:

-March 9, 2019.

-A new venue/location was chosen. Diamond Banquet Hall and Diamond Liquors.

-There is a $400 deposit required, make check payable to Diamond Catering.

-Bob will need to have his own PA equipment. We can work with DJ Zach on this.

-We can bring in donated Food items. They will work with the same $600 budget as last year. They will make a series of appetizers. As one is gone, something new will replace it.

-Donna suggested renting 8 high top tables from Channahon Rental. Crystal will call for more information and to try to work out a deal on this. On their website, they are 9.25 each table. Get a quote for 8 tables and delivery.

-The Hall has black linens that we will be able to utilize.

-There will be an order form. Diamond Liquor will give us 10% on orders.

-Any alcohol provided by Donna will be given to us at cost.

-If pourers are needed, they are covered under the hall liquor license.

-We have 217 tasting cups from last year

Donna would like to work in conjunction with her to acquire local breweries. She asked us to contact the following:

▪Migrane (Old Train Station in Joliet) * Jessica is contacting

▪Tangled Roots *Jessica is waiting on a call back

▪Elders in Joliet *Amanda is contacting

▪River Hawk Channahon *Amanda is Contacting

▪Unpossible Mead Dwight (Mrs. Galbreaths husband)

▪Box Tops: January 22-February 15. Michelle may need help with this. Crystal offered to help!

▪Shoparoo:Elementary and Middle School combined. As of 12/11/18, there are 9020 points.

▪Scholastic Bucks:Balance $4135.39

▪Schwans Cares:Jessica Committee Head. Must order through the link for it to count. We have $165 Campaign # 42399.
