Village of Diamond issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.
The Grundy County Health Department announces upcoming opportunities at which IDPH
is sponsoring a drive-through COVID-19 test site.
Local health departments have coordinated with the IL Department of Public Health to provide a mobile
unit locally. Testing will be offered to anyone – regardless of symptoms or asymptomatic – by way of a
nasal swab. Results will be available 4-7 days after specimen collection. Residents of any county are
invited to any site, and should bring a health insurance card, but no one will be turned away for inability
to pay.
The mobile testing units will be available:
Saturday, September 26
9:00am – 5:00pm
Romeoville Village Hall
1050 W. Romeo Rd.
Romeoville
Sunday, September 27
9:00am – 5:00pm
Early Childhood Center (South Lot)
755 S Carbon Hill Rd.
Coal City
Monday, September 28
9:00am – 5:00pm
Joliet Junior College
1215 Houbolt Rd.
Joliet
IDPH plans to dispatch a mobile unit regardless of weather conditions, but the site manager may choose
to hold off on opening or decide to close early if weather becomes too concerning.
It is important to note that host sites are determined based on ease for public access, and are not
related to a specific outbreak. Rather, school or local officials have cooperated to provide amble space
for the drive-through mobile testing unit and anticipated traffic.
