University of Illinois System Senate Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion met Nov. 12.

I. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Senate Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (EQ) was called to order at 11:30 am with Chair Pionke presiding.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the April 9, 2021, September 10, 2021 and October 8, 2021 meetings were approved as distributed by roll call vote.

No: None
Abstain: Channell, Emerson
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
Perez congratulated Pionke on receiving the Lorraine Cowan award for Excellence in Access & Accommodations.
IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS
Chair Pionke shared that we have visitors today and several things have been added to the agenda. One includes a revision to the Bylaws, adding language regarding Title VI and Title IX. In addition, the committee will be discussing RS.22.02 (both items are under New Business).
V. OLD BUSINESS
EQ.20.05, Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Resolution
No discussion.
EQ.21.01, Resolution on Revised Diversity Statement (EQ.13.01)
The committee discussed revisions. Chair Pionke will update the document. VI. NEW BUSINESS
EQ.22.01, Proposed revision of the Bylaws, Part D.10 – Committee on Equal Opportunity and Inclusion
No discussion was had on this proposal.
EQ.22.02, Resolution Regarding Notification of University Personnel in Cases of Students with Highly Infectious Diseases (RS.22.02)

• Invite Diversity Committee Chairs from colleges on campus
Victor Jones, Jr. - Library
Jones shared information on some of the programs that are being done in the Library and programs that he is looking to start and relationships that he would like to establish on campus.
Lynford Goddard, Engineering
Goddard shared information on some of the programs that are being done in the Grainger College of Engineering
