In a June 11 Facebook post, Rep. Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) celebrated the Relay for Life in Kankakee County
"I had a wonderful time at the Relay for Life of Kankakee County event today! It was a great turnout for a great cause!" Haas posted.
The event was held at Bishop McNamara Catholic High School on Brookmont Boulevard in Kankakee.
Relay for Life of Kankakee County is presented by Nucor Steel Kankakee & Riverside Healthcare. There was a disc jockey, food, kids' zone, luminaria celebration, theme laps, prizes, survivors activities and more. There was a special lap after the opening ceremony for survivors and caregivers to take immediately after the opening ceremony.
